Specifications: This 7th generation of iPod classic sports a new sleeker design and assorted new features. The 120GB hard drive may store up to 30’000 songs (128-kbps format), 25’000 images and 150 hours of video. It has a beauteous 2.5-inch LCD display with a 320×240 solution (with 163 pixels per-inch). The audio formats supported by this model include MP3 files, AAC, protected AAC, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless and MP3 VBR files. As of connectivity, it comes with a dock connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Lithium ion batteries take regarding 4 hours to be entirely charged. Design: This new model is once again littler and slimmer than it is predecessors. It measures at 4.1 x 2.4 x 0.41 inches and weights at just 4.9 ounces. Features & Performance: The new Apple iPod classic is more green than the older models, using recycled packaging materials and highly recyclable materials of it is exterior casing. The display screen on the iPod classic may not be as good as those found on the iPhone and the iPod touch, but it is good sufficient for observing videos and playing games while you are on the go. In terms of audio quality, the music played on this new model is somewhat dissimilar from the older models. The audio devised by this newer model has a noticeable reduction in the noise level (distortion or disruption) and the detailing also seems to be a little better, resulting in an bettered audio quality. All in all, with a scaled down price (price-storage ratio) and bettered features, the new Apple iPod classic proves to be a good buy. Apple has once again managed to improve on an already near-perfect product!

Genius comes to iPod shuffle
There’s another way to get a good mix of music on iPod shuffle: let Genius do the work. Activate Genius in iTunes on your computer, and it mechanically finds songs that sound great together. Then it produces Genius Mixes, which you may without apparent effort sync to your iPod shuffle. It’s the perfective way to rediscover songs you haven’t listened to in, like, forever.

 Great little thing

I just got my new shuffle in the mail today. I necessitated something for running and dreadmilling when it is too snowy/icy to run outside.
My basi impressions:
Pros
Great little thing (small)
strong clip
easy to use (hooray for buttons!)
simple, multi-position switch on the top lets you play in order or shuffle. Voice over button is easy to use and works well.
Easy to sync (choose playlists, talent playlists, albums, artists, podcasts, etc…)
Looks good (see my notes with regards to online photos at the bottom)
Long (15h) battery life.
EDIT: A “hold” function has been added, just hold the center button to activate and deactivate, good feature. It would be utile if I had just gotten mine, but I learned how to use it without the feature so I don’t end up using hold much.
Cons
None. (As far am I concerned, there are cons like “no screen” and such, but if you order this to get an ipod shuffle, not a nano or other mp3 player, you will not be disappointed. I was not let down at all).
EDIT: After galore thought and use, I thought of galore cons.
$50 for 2gb is not a great price equated to other mp3 players.
2gb might be limiting to you. This just means you have to choose or let itunes choose what music goes on there carefully.
Because the buttons take up most of the front of the ipod, it may be hard to use the clip while it is turned on without pressing the next button.
Conclusion:
If you recognise what an ipod shuffle does, need a reasonable music player that syncs with your itunes, and don’t need more. GET ONE!!! I can’t imagine you will be let down.
One last note: From all the photos online, you can’t in truth tell, bu this is not a matte finish ipod. The finish is shiny, but not mirror-y. And actually, no one will care with regards to this, but the top and bottom are matte silver. It looks good.
EDIT: 7/6/11 I put it through the wash last month, oops, but it’s still going strong!

 Headphones suck!

The headphones that are required to use the new ipod shuffle are in all likelihood the poorest example of product design i’ve ever seen. Based on it is size, portability and Apple’s marketing, you would think this would be a perfective product for exercising. That is where you would be wrong! The controls on the headphone wire are right up next to your ear, and unless you exercise without sweating, that tiny box is doomed to get filled with sweat. I purchased this ipod quintessentially for running, but after when it comes to 3 miles the controls begin acting exclusively erratically, randomly and perpetually switching amid songs and playlists, or alternatively not playing any music but just talking at me with it is annoying computer voice. I may only attribute the conduct to sweat getting on the control box. Today I even tried covering the box with plastic wrap and tape, but to no avail. I was so frustrated with the ipod’s crazy conduct on mile 6 that I in truth ripped the headphones out of my ears and threw them in the ditch. Not kidding. Looking for a good deal of substitute to control it, because I do actually like it’s size for running, and the new playlist feature is great…but not when it’s acting crazy. I’m so irritated that Apple overlooked this crucial aspect of this product.

 Worst Apple product ever

I purchased the new iPod Shuffle as a alternate for my 2nd Gen Shuffle (which I loved) which died. I already have a iPhone which I use on a each and everyday basis. The Shuffle is just for use in the gym and when out running.
I have just returned the iPod Shuffle as I have had not one thing but difficulties with it. The primary one I purchased passed from physical life altogether within a couple of days and was duly replaced. The substitute I was given caused me not one thing but headaches and so is now on it is way back to Apple. I won’t be getting another.
Each time I applied it, it either stopped working, wouldn’t change tracks or held on repeating the message “playlist 1, playlist 1…” which was so annoying that I had to stop using it and am now looking for an substitute product.
The reason it does this (so I am told) is because the controls on the headphones are not moisture-proof! Mine passed away on me for the duration of slow jog in which I was scarcely sweating at all! So unless you are one of those people who never sweats, this product is completely useless.
I know that Apple are working with 3rd party headphone makers to formulate substitute headphones, but why must you have to pay more just to get headphones which genuinely do what they are supposed to do?
